GOOD PEOPLE PROJECT

A living record of the everyday stories around us.

SAY WHAT?

Why It Exists

When stories aren’t told, communities forget.

When people aren’t remembered, values fade.

The Good People Project exists so we can say, together:

"This matters. These stories matter. We, as a community, agree that this is worth preserving for the

next generation."

The Good People Project is a curated series of short films produced by Degaje Studios. Each story focuses on a neighbor whose life has had a meaningful impact on others through service, responsibility, generosity, or quiet leadership.

Each story stands on its own, but together they form a growing record of what we value as a community. They help us remember who shaped us, how they lived, and why it mattered.

This is a living archive of local legacy.

Latest Project

Imagine a world without a local newspaper. No stories about the little girl down the street starting a lemonade stand, the small business opening its doors, or the everyday wins happening in our community. For years, Jill Meier has been the one telling those stories through the Brandon Valley Journal, celebrating the people and moments that make this place special. But local journalism is disappearing across the country, and our paper is not immune. This is just a sneak peek of the full Good People Project film to come.

If you believe stories like this matter, consider supporting the project down below.

Let’s tell her story the way she’s told so many of ours.

Have someone in mind?

Think of someone who has made a difference by how they live. They’re the kind of person who shows up, does what needs to be done, and looks out for others without making a big deal of it.

It might be a teacher who stayed late, a neighbor who always checks in, a coach who believed in kids who struggled, or someone who serves others without needing credit.

You may not hear their story often, but their influence shows up in everyday life.

Support the Good People Project

The Good People Project highlights the individuals who quietly shape our community. Teachers, builders, neighbors, leaders — the people whose lives make a difference. Help us produce films that lift up what is good, true, and beautiful in our community. Your support helps fund filming, editing, travel, and publishing of these stories.

Every contribution, whether monthly or one-time, helps us continue telling the stories that remind a community who it is and what it stands for. When these stories are shared, they strengthen connection, inspire gratitude, and encourage others to live with purpose.

If you believe these stories are worth preserving, we invite you to join us in making a way for them to be told.
